As an avid chef and the person in charge of the Hill 70 blog, I decided to find a way to combine my passions for food and history! I'll be blogging my way through 70 recipes from
Allied Cookery: British, French, Italian, Belgian, Russian by Grace Clergue Harrison and Gertrude Clergue.
The book, compiled and sold as a fundraiser to "aid the war sufferers in the devastated districts of France," is prefaced by Stephen Leacock and Ella Wheeler Wilcox, and introduced by the "Président du Comité France-Amérique" Raoul Dandurand. It contains recipes from bouillabaise to roast oysters, and Leg-of-Mutton Pie to Brioche de la Lune.
The beginning of the recipe for Bouillabaise!
