Kay (Fisher) Langmuir has kindly provided us with the story of her grandfather, Major Fisher, who served in WWI. Major Fisher enlisted on March 22nd, 1916 in Fredericton, New Brunswick and was given authority to raise the 58th Overseas Howitzer Battery. He later commanded the 82nd and 2nd Batteries in France. Major Fisher was in action at the battle of Hill 70. He returned to Canada on December 14th, 1918. In the post-war militia he rose to the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel of the New Brunswick Dragoons. He died in 1983.
